Fay’s Boat Yard is a traditional kind of place. Now in its fourth generation of ownership by the Fay family, Fay’s Boat Yard has been a fixture in Smith’s Cove in Gilford on Lake Winnepesaukee for almost 100 years. We’ve sold and serviced boats to several generations of customers, all of whom look to Fay’s for its honesty, value for the money and standing behind every boat it sells.
But times do change, especially in new technologies. We’ve seen that in the boats we sell and service, with the new electronics and myriad other engine technologies.
And so we approached the need for an upgrade in our website, our main customer interface, with a mix of excitement to take advantage of all the new features our customers will enjoy and a desire to keep things the way they’ve always been.
We think we’ve done just that, with a new website that debuted this June. Our customers will notice a better user experience, while still getting the feel of the dependable Fay’s Boat Yard spirit.
One area that has been improved is our boat inventory page. The new layout is easier to navigate, has better filtering and will enable boat shoppers to quickly zero in on the models they are interested in.
In services and maintenance, users will be able to find a new page for each service they need, and will be able to quickly sign up for a service appointment. It should make the service process easy and quick for all.
Users will also notice our new boat and kayak rental section, with comprehensive listings of the types and costs of rentals and a quick reservation form. It will be easier than ever to rent the boat of your choice.
Be sure to catch the video on the About page featuring our owner, Merrill Fay. He talks about the history of his family and the deep-seated traditions that have made Fay’s Boat Yard the institution that it is today on Lake Winnepesaukee.
As always, we welcome your comments about the new website, and any suggestions about ways you think it can be improved.
