Summary
This 1981 Catalina 30 is in good condition and is here in our boat yard, available for viewing by appointment.
This sailboat has been well maintained and has had oil changes along with the hull power washed annually. Additionally, this vessel got a new starter, impeller, and new water pump installed in 2022. Designed by Frank V. Butler, this popular model broke keel-boat production records. The Catalina 30 was the largest and longest continuous production keel boat in the world, with over 6,500 hulls produced. In 2001 it was inducted to the American Sailboat Hall of Fame. The Catalina 30 was designed to take the family out for a weekend of cruising and has a reputation for offshore toughness. The boat feels big, both on deck and down below.
The companionway opening is exceptionally wide and contributes to the feeling of plenty of elbowroom. For example, when open the companionway makes the cabin appear even bigger than it is. Once below deck, the Catalina 30 provides ample creature comforts such as the open and spacious settee with a plethora of organized storage options. Also, this Catalina has a cabin headroom of 6′ 3″ which is a rare find amongst sailboats. Catalina also offers a galley built with commodities such as a double sink and a 2 burner alcohol stove. Additionally, there are berths for seven, including a uniquely large aft double cabin complete with shelves and a large hatch. The head is roomy enough for standing, sitting and showering. Meanwhile the navigation station is set up similar to much larger yachts, providing convenient storage for charts and navigational equipment.
