Experience Winnipesaukee From The Water–Rent a Boat from Fay’s Boat Yard This Summer June 24, 2024

Many of our customers here at Fay’s Boat Yard are longtime property owners here on Lake Winnipesaukee who buy boats to enjoy all that New Hampshire’s largest lake has to offer.

But we also have customers who come up for weekends, a full week or even a month at a time who also want to experience the Lake.  For these folks, Fay’s Boat Yard offers boat rentals: from kayaks and canoes, to power boats and pontoons. We rent our boats by the half-day, full-day or week.

Anyone who visits the Lake Winnipesaukee region from Memorial Day to Labor Day knows about our highway traffic! It can be legendary (not in a good way!) as visitors wend their way around our many attractions visiting the towns and villages on the lake: Alton, Gilford, Laconia, Meredith, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, Tuftonborough, and Wolfeboro.

Boaters can visit all those places (and more) without having to deal with traffic–at least the four- and two-wheeled kind!  Lake Winnipesaukee is always full of pleasure boats of all kinds, as well as the excursion and tourist boats, like the M/V Mount Washington, which circles the lake every day.

But experiencing the Lake by boat is always less stressful: the views are spectacular, the lake is dotted with islands and beaches, one can always stop and toss out a baited hook, and a great restaurant, cafe, ice cream stand or winery or brewery is never far from shore.

You can motor to one of the lake’s fine beaches to enjoy some sunning or splashing. Some of the most popular include Weir’s Beach, Ellacoya State Park not far from our home base in Gilford, the Allen Albee Beach on Lake Wentworth on the far side of Wolfeboro, or Bartlett’s Beach on Lake Winnisquam in Laconia.

Those towns and villages are also great to visit by boat. The Weir’s Beach area is a famously kitschy stop for family fun and arcades, ice cream shops, the Boardwalk and more. The large town of Wolfeboro offers the New Hampshire Boat Museum, with some great wooden boats of yore; and the Wright Museum of World War II, full of artifacts from the last big war. The town of Meredith is more adult-oriented with wine tastings, fine restaurants and a beautiful Meredith Bay. And the famous Castle in the Clouds, an Arts and Crafts mansion high on a hill above Moultonborough, with hiking trails and a restaurant, is one of the Lake’s most popular stops.

And the Lake is full of islands, large and small. Bear Island is mostly uninhabited with some great hikes; and Governor’s Island is a wonder.

Fay’s Boat Yard offers 17- and 25-foot Avalon pontoons for rent, with prices starting at $300 half day, $400 full day and $2500 for the week.

In power boats, we offer the 150 hp 20-foot Wellcraft CC and the 250 hp 21-foot Glastron Sport, with prices beginning at $350 half-day, $525 full day and $3415 per week.

Canoes are available for $30 (half day), $60 (full day) and $175 (week); and kayaks from $75 (half day) $150 (full day) and $500 (week).

If you want to get the full Lake effect, rent a boat from Fay’s this summer. We think you’ll love it!

Call Fay’s Boat Yard at (603) 293-8000 or visit our website here for full details and to make your reservation. Be sure to learn the rental requirements and policies before you rent.
