The Glastron 240 GTD–It’s a Gas! February 7, 2020

Glastron is a name that has been around for more than 60 years. In the Sixties, the brand built a sexy, James Bond-like aura with its sleek lines, bold colors and top-grade performance.

The newer models from Glastron are aimed more at family boating, such as the Glastron 240 GTD, a wide-beamed deck boat with plenty of seating, storage and accessories designed to provide your family and friends with a comfortable and enjoyable day on the water.

But don’t forget the James Bond part!

The new Glastron still has those sleek lines and bold colors. The legendary SSV hull–that stands for “Super Stable Vee”– is quick to plane with minimal bowrise and is extra tight in the turns. But it also provides acres of space topside for swim decks, comfortable seating groupings, pass-through corridors and even a hidden compartment for a portable head or a changing area.

Glastron has designed this boat with a wide variety of power plant options. You can select an outboard, from Mercury, Evinrude, Volvo or Yamaha; or a sterndrive or even a forward drive option. Owners get to select the power option that will work best with what they want the boat to do.

The compact helm station is well-designed for the operator’s vision, and the Glastron windscreen can fold down for comfort, or flip up to allow pass-through to the bow seating.

Passenger comfort is the highest priority with Glastron. The color-coordinated upholstery provides seating for as many as 11 passengers, and almost every seating area doubles as a storage place underneath. There are multiple ways to get on and off the vessel easily, swim ladders fore and aft, and broad swim platforms for your family.

Comfort, performance and you’re sure to hear that Bond theme music in your head when you see one of these sleek beauties skimming across the lake this summer!

Stop in to see us at Fay’s Boat Yard and we’ll take you out for a spin in the Glastron 240 GTD. It’s a gas!
