The 2024 Catalina 16.5 Daysailer boasts a big roomy cockpit, and large storage locker forward, making for ideal family outings.
The 16.5 is available in two keel designs; the Centerboard model and the keel model. The Centerboard model features a powerful sailplan, balanced by the stable hull form and fiberglass centerboard and rudder. Adjustable hiking straps, tiller extension, adjustable outhaul, and sheet bag are all standard equipment. In addition, the rudder has been upgraded from the standard option to a kick-up rudder. This daysailer can comfortably carry 4 people, meaning no one gets left at the docks. Measuring in at 16′, the Catalina is small enough to be garage stored. Additionally, the 16.5 provides excellent performance and sure, predictable handling in a broad range of conditions.
Like every Catalina, the 16.5 is built with a one piece hand laminated deck. The hull is also hand laid for strength and light weight. The 16.5 is known to be a stable and a well mannered daysailer for its size, making it an excellent boat for beginners. Both models come with self-bailing cockpits, a large forepeak storage compartment with a watertight hatch. Also included is anodized mast and boom with adjustable outhaul, stainless steel standing rigging, and running rigging. Also incorporated with the 2024 Catalina 16.5 Daysailer are complete Dacron sails.
